Description:

Regenerative medicine is a rapidly growing area of biomedical research focusing on the repair, replacement or regeneration of cells, tissues or organs to restore impaired body function. Emerging as an interdisciplinary branch of medicine, regenerative medicine aims to bring together expertise in biology, chemistry, engineering and genetics in order to discover novel methods and strategies for some of the most challenging medical problems faced by mankind. This course introduces fundamental concepts and principles of regenerative medicine. Advanced technologies involved in regenerative medicine including stem cell therapy, biomaterials, tissue engineering and gene editing, will also be covered. Through practicals, students will gain hands on experience in basic experimental skills for stem cell culture and biomaterial preparation as well.
