CUHK Biomedical Sciences Programme (BMS) provides students with an integrated and holistic training in biomedical sciences, training leaders with global perspectives for the local, regional and international research, specialists on health system policy and management, and skilled personnel for clinical, pharmaceutical, diagnostics and healthcare settings.

  • Our curriculum relating the relevance of biomedical sciences knowledge and research in the clinical, pharmaceutical, and healthcare settings.

Our SBS students Athena, Ice, and Celeste spent their summer attachment in the ๐ƒ๐ž๐ฉ๐š๐ซ๐ญ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐‚๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ข๐œ๐š๐ฅ ๐†๐ž๐ง๐ž๐ญ๐ข๐œ๐ฌ at the ๐‡๐จ๐ง๐  ๐Š๐จ๐ง๐  ๐‚๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ซ๐ž๐งโ€™๐ฌ ๐‡๐จ๐ฌ๐ฉ๐ข๐ญ๐š๐ฅ (๐‡๐Š๐‚๐‡).๐ŸงฌAnd Athena is now a Trainee at HKCHโ€”congratulations! โœจ During their placement, they supported genetic counsellors in both genetic counselling and genetic screening services, joined case conferences, and assisted in group research projectsโ€”reviewing hundreds of cases each week. They shared that the internship gave them valuable clinical exposure, strengthened their understanding of medical genetics, and offered a meaningful glimpse into the daily work of Genetic Counsellors and the Clinical Genetics Team. This internship is part of the experiential learning opportunities offered to our SBS students, allowing them to apply classroom knowledge to real-world biomedical settings. ๐Ÿ”ฌStudents who focus on Health Services and Consultation (Concentration Area C) will take a Biomedical Internship as part of their experiential learning experience. ๐Ÿ“šโœจ Our BMS student ๐“๐€๐Œ ๐‘๐ž๐›๐ž๐œ๐œ๐š ๐‰๐ข๐š ๐‡๐ฎ๐ž๐ฒ joined the 1-year exchange programme at the ๐”๐ง๐ข๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐Œ๐š๐ง๐œ๐ก๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ (๐”๐จ๐Œ), School of Biological Sciences. ๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œGoing for exchange at UoM was one of the best choices I made for my university life! The direct partnership between CUHK School of Biomedical Sciences and UoM made the whole application process, from paperwork to course enrolment, so much smoother.โ€ ๐Ÿ’œ ๐ŸŽ“ Rebecca shared that students at UoM were highly engaged in class discussions, and professors were equally enthusiastic in responding, creating a lively and inspiring learning environment.
