The BSc in Biomedical Sciences (BMS) is a multi-disciplinary, comprehensive and integrative Programme that best illustrates the relevance of biomedical sciences in the clinical, pharmaceutical and healthcare settings. The curriculum closely follows modern medical trends, including innovative treatments for, and diagnosis of, diseases and new solutions to address global health demands. Our courses are delivered by leading scientists in the School of Biomedical Sciences, guest speakers from the Clinical Departments of the Faculty of Medicine, and industry experts who share their views on how biomedical advances impact modern medicine.

Upon completion of the Programme, graduates will:

  • possess a strong, broad-based foundation, along with advanced specialised knowledge in selected areas of biomedical sciences and research;
  • have developed a broad range of skills and values, including the capacity for lifelong learning and the ability to conduct biomedical research;
  • be able to apply critical and creative thinking to analyse complex problems, identify ethical dilemmas in biomedical sciences and research, and propose feasible solutions;
  • demonstrate a good understanding of the policy issues and strategic management related to public health, the pharmaceutical industry, diseases and medicine;
  • be equipped with practical, hands-on training and exposure to real-life scenarios through training in biomedical research laboratories or industrial settings;
  • exhibit effective interpersonal and communication skills.
